okay,
i'm not a catholic but still,
welcome to the family.

my mom was baptised over the weekend.
during easter vigil to be exact.

was making the banner that afternoon with meirong, bel and jkang.
(SEE JINGKANG, I TOLD THEM YOU HELPED!)
i'm not going to say how it turned out,
but let's say i found sewing very fun. (:

rushed home for an early dinner and got changed for church.
we were surprisingly early,
but we got great seats.
sfx church was decorated quite immaculately,
and while waiting,
i was wondering if i could have pulled off such a great job.

digressed,
the service was long.
maybe it was because of the added easter vigil,
thats why i didnt remember my brother's baptism to be so long.
and it started to get really cold.

OHYEA,
i forgot to mention that we met our old neighbours that we havent seen for long!
they happen to decide to come to sfx church for vigil,
and they happen to spot my mom traversing around the church in the all-while ensemble.
it was really great seeing them again,
cos i missed dinner with their family 2 yrs back during christmas cos i was away carolling.
the nicest was meeting the family's domestichelper,
who was with them for about 12 years already.
she and i really clicked,
cos back in pri/sec school i constantly forgot to bring my housekeys out,
and i would have to camp over at their place until my parents came home.
so you can say that they've watched me grow up
into the fine young man i am today.

erh,
*cough* yea.

the vigil was really inspiring,
cos i saw an old friend sing for the first time.
well, prob he sings his solos alot,
but its my first time listening to him.
he's really good, but until now,
i still cant match the face to the voice.
not in a bad way of course.

the highlight was prob the baptism.
cos the choir sang '0n eagle's wings',
which is my utmost favourite hymm.
plus my brother got baptism during the duration of this song,
and now my mom.
well, this song always made me emotional,
for no apparent reason and it made me tear.
i have no idea why but yea.
every single time.

it was great seeing father ho again,
whom i have immense respect for.
and every single time i see him,
he'll ask me,
when's your turn ar?

mom and godmother.

mom and ex-neighbours.

mom and father ho.

GAH!
i'm going to be late for waraku lunch!

RAHHS.
i got to rant cos i'm irritated hmpf.

okie but its erm quite frivolous.
groceryshopped with the family.
and while waiting for the stuff to be paid,
eye-spied (pun intended) this dude in a really nice tee.
i'm totally in love with it cos it was emblazoned with the sesame street sign logo.

i'm like oooh-ing and aaah-ing at it,
feeling totally jealous and the works.
(includes non-existent plan to save money to buy my own)
firstly cos its green and its a junkfood tee and its sesame street.
like oooh laa laa can.

wait, i digressed.

then i realised that he was wearing this incredibly weird pair of jeans.
weird colour and cutting.
i was like wtf.

its so freaking wasted can.
(plus his shoes were asics, but it was really bad choice of colour)
okay, i'm not those who must buy a certain type of jeans, eg skinnies all the way.
but every pair of jeans can be matched and worn in a right way.
that person's pair of jeans just simply cmi.
cos the green of the shirt clashed with the cutting and the colour.
thus making the whole outfit look cheap.

i'm not saying that you should all go out and buy expensive jeans and all.
but you just got to choose properly.
you cant possibly go out and buy expensive clothes all the time.
its just not in the budget, not mine anyway.
its possible to make cheap look good.

i mean,
i do wear clothes from erm bossini for example.
i love their plain coloured tees,
and a simple white tee can be flawlessly matched with a pair of dark/grey jeans.
and it doesnt break the wallet.

its nice to have little indulgences for expensive clothes.
i myself do indulge (heavily erps).
but going all the way to buy a single shirt and neglect all the others just aint gonna work.
i mean, you've got shoes, pants/shorts, and even a belt.
it goes a long way.

plus if you know you look good,
self-confidence is doubled or even tripled.
no one looks perfect,
and there's no such thing as ugly.
(people not clothes, cos there's plenty of egs for ugly clothes hmms)

its all about making the effort to dress well.
cos if you make the effort, people will take notice and pride you for ur effort.
i mean, if you wore the tee you slept in last night to town,
your respect from others is gonna go way down.

even simple things like getting a better fit via diff size makes a difference.
it'll cost the same anyways, so why buy something that is unflattering
when you can get it in a diff size for the same price that makes you look waaay better?

common (fashion) sense.
bah.

but i still want that sesame street junkfood tee.

CAMPIONE!
and i'm a proud daddy penguin (:

it was really nice to know that the choir made it into the grandfinals.
it must have been overwhelming and i heard that there was quite a bit of tears!
yet, i still know that xianhui's one of them who didnt even make a big fuss out of it,
but well YAYS.

everyone i know was really excited and all.
i mean, i was really proud larh.
(:

itchy and skratchy for the results the whole of last night.
i sorta knew that the results would would be given around four/five am this morning.
so i was nervous hoho.

i know that roughly at around four plus
i just automatically woke up and frantically checked my fone for the results.
then, it was a five minute nap from then on.
i dunno but i kept waking after five minutes to check if we got the results.

and it was not until sixty thirty when i got a call.
of which the news were absolutely fab!
CATEGORY CHAMP & GRAND CHAMPION & AUDIENCE PRIZE

it brought back so many memories of prague when we got the laureate of the festival.
it was just crazy hah. (:
i was half asleep on the fone and wanting to scream and all.
but it seems like they've cooled down and stopped screaming seven hours back there.
am still excited now so YEA.

my mom came to see what the racket was after the call.
and when she found out (through my sleepy talk and pillows) that the choir won.
she said that it was no surprise and that it must have been a small competition.
den i knocked out for two seconds and suddenly bolted up awake and said NO LOR.
and promptly fell asleep and woke up two mins later,
not being able to fall asleep for the next 30 mins or so.

excited mahh. (:

i woke up at eight thirty later on.
and was still in a crazed state of shock hah.

the frivolous things we do after alumni practice. (:

lo and behold,
apparently the choir has finished their competition.
like whaaaat?!
i was told it was tomorrow, or later today.
oh whatever.

it was apparently good,
and it was wellreceived.
so its all very gooood! :D

wellwishes and prayers for the results on wed.
rock on bitches!
or whatever again haha.

it was nice to be thought of after the competition.
tho i badly want the chilly air and the gelato now.
at a ungodly two in the morning.

luckily i decided to stay up to erm watch dramas online!
bring something back, a human also can haha.

dont let it rain.

starbucks-ed on wed afternoon.
its funny how a rainy day can feel so good.
with every reason to wear a jacket and not get bewildered stares from everyone.
everyday is good for a cuppa of starbucks.
yea, i'm just a starbucks addict. (:

i found out that its real convenient for me to travel to thomson.
cos its just about seven stops from the busstop just outside my house.
with little people and the promise of a quiet afternoon,
i forsee plenty of myself-time there in the very near future.

met jasmine and zkai there.
lunched with me trying to figure out the free wireless.
and potential attempts trying to shop despite little moolah.
shall go back to buy a tee!

starbucks was good.
the sofas comfy and squishy with plenty of good company.
thank goodness for wireless so there was plenty of stalking on facebook hah.
and we unearthed plenty of scandals hohoho. (:
now, that's our forte!

of course,
there was plenty of fun with photobooth!
sheer cheap thrills that brought much laughter and hilarity.

baked my new decadent choc cupcakes for the sendoff.
played around with an existing recipe and it turned out really good!
moist and dark. (:

decorated with XOXOs in icing later on.
but the icing turned out a little watery.
so the bottom layer in the box had smudged prints.
hmpfs. :/

but its still pretty. (:

for the second time in my life,
i took the train to the airport.
squeezy and long.
but the smell of my cupcakes kept me through!
and for those stupid inquisitive commuters,
i happily opened the box to demonstrate a theatrical whiff,
also to show that i wasnt carrying any bombs hmm.
there were so many disapproving glances ohkaay.

met zkai and a few early people who went to have dinner.
am glad to meet up with the choir just before they left.
and totally got the whiff of the excitement just before a competitiong hoho.
sent off zkai and xiany first with bel with much laughs and lamenting that the airport's so huge.

sent off the choir later on with nadiah and szemun.
we got trigger-happy and attempted to take peektures of gerald's cute brother!
but to no avail hmms.

it was indeed a very different experience sending someone off.
cos usually i'll be the one in the group getting crazy and excited.
i guess maybe its time for a new experience.
but this time it'll for two weeks, considerably long in fact.
at least now i can busy with getting ready for school, enrolment and whatnots.

i'm not totally excited or anything.
but i just want to get into th groove of school life.
call me crazy, but i actually want it to come earlier.
just to get things finally moving.
rahs, to hell with the administration.
and to get my parents off my back.

thats it, i shall organise a starbucks outing by muself next week.
when there's totally no one there hmms.
with my current new-ish fav of greentea latte.
which i'm glad to say that it didnt give me a headache. (:

then again,
i wouldnt mind retail therapy cos i need a new bag for school!

till i get drunk and pensieve again.
i forsee this blog will see more of me the coming two weeks.
and hopefully i can finish my reading in concrete architecture.

AH HAH.
i've got my macbook and loving it.
the whole chic thing just gets to me hohoho.
plus its white and dirt-attracting.
which describes it as a white elephant, literally.

hmmms, but its fully functional now it comes with office mac.
so its fuctional enough for me. (:

but i still cant familiarise myself with it yet.
and wireless not installed yet, its kind of just sitting on my desk.
with the only thing i'm doing is playing music and try to choose a apt background for it.
ohyea, there's always photobooth.
but it's always me, myself and i playing with it so its not much fun.

breakfast at tiffany's!
actually its breakfast with the grass.

picnic-ed yesterday at the gardens.
well, no one really planned it but it suddenly idea-ed during sat lunch.
i cant believe it but it actually worked out. (:

i guess we should plan more impromptu outings more often.
surprisesurprise, everyone woke at seven thereabouts.
but still, we were semi-late.
thanks to the transport, we didnt need to search high and low on what bus to bring us there.
we found the place abound with running dogs and barking joggers.

plus, while walking towards the green picnic lawns
we spotted a very interesting things.
like very erm sharp and ripe apples.
eeks, forget i said that hah.

food and company was good.
and camwhoring was always something good to have hah.
pleasant sundays and plenty of laughs.
