date: Tuesday, November 29, 2005 just came back from my grad nite.. its was nothing i imagined, be it good or bad..
at ard six plus in the evening, i just started preparing myself for the grad night.. luckily i decided to wear something underneath my shirt cos otherwise it'll be totally transparent.. (hoped that the s'pore swim team was successful in their relays cos i missed it.. though i watched jocelyn win her gold medal for freestyle..i tink GO TEAM SINGAPORE!) anyway, i thot iwas going to be late cos i was ard the suntec area at about 7.35.. luckily, most people werent there yet.. saw some people with really nice dyed hair.. unconciously i started to try to restyle my hair bcos it just wouldnt listen to me when i tried to style it at home.. anyway, the biggest shock was when yonglian came in to the area wearing a skirt with red lipstick and eye-shadow.. i didnt know whether to laugh or cry.. it just looked really really weird.. *bleargh* the dinner was not tooo bad the plates were nice and the service was okay, generally it exceeded my expectations because i really wasnt expecting much from a school dinner.. of course, our darling principal didnt appear for whoknowswhat reason.. what a spoiler.. he was supposed to be the guest-of-honour but guess what.. he just happily didnt appear.. i have this feeling that he is currently in some disneyland across some continent again.. lolz.. apparently not alot of teachers appeared.. i saw thian, angie, anna, bobby, edwin, peckeng, chenjiejue.. thats all.. i was like..huh? where are the rest? and most left quite early also.. i noe angie and thian left fairly early.. didnt see danny too.. dunno why lehz.. mayb he was partying in zouk again or something.. hahaz.. i really liked angie's dress, but seems a little typical of her.. well, the night was really quite enjoyable and well, it left an okay mark in this pt of my life.. the emcees made some really *cold* jokes.. when he said them, everyone was like 'very funny......' and he thought that he was actually entertaining us and we were laughing.. so it was quite ironic.. but most of the time, iwas busy catching up with philip and andrew and with mrinnocent and maoz.. i actually saw a tape of myself acting rather foolishly and crazily in sec2.. it was quite an eye-opener to me bcos i didnt remember anything abt doing that.. :p it was very enlightening to see some people and the political status in the students' council.. esp for some people.. it is quite interesting how you can see the up and rising political leaders so easily.. anyway, its none of my business.. i'm so excited, i'm leaving in about 4-5 hrs to the airport for my flight to vancouver.. i'm meeting my aunt at ard 530am.. so its pretty fast.. i really miss going to vancouver cos i havent been there fr about 2-3 yrs liaoz so i'm finally going back.. my favourite town of whistler.. what i ahve to overcome is my long flight there, s'pore-tokyo, narita; tokyo,narita-san frans; san frans-vancouver; drive to whistler from there.. so its quite a long journey.. 7hr + 12hr + 4hr + 2-3hr -> abt 24hrs.. plus time diff, i'm in for a serious jet lag.. but i'm willing to sacrifice fatigue for cold winds and snow.. :p see you all in about 10 days! :p |
date: Saturday, November 26, 2005 just watched 'a twist of fate' this afternoon at abut 4.00pm today.. ever since before my olevels, i've wanted to watch the show.. i was absolutely fascinated by the trailer with the adrian pang interview with laura michelle kelly, who played mary poppins in the london, west end, 'mary poppins'.. for this musical, she won the olivier award, which is the london equilvalent of the tony awards in the us. for those who dont knowwhat the olivier award is, or even the tony award, it is a very highly prestiged award that is given to stars in musicals, in Broadway or the West End, in the us and london respectively.. of course i was totally excited about it.. luckily my mom also wanted to watch the musical too, otherwise i would have never been able to convince anyone to watch it with me.. :p
anyway, i went to watch it today.. because i was busy playing this afternoon, my family and i were kinda late for the show in the esplanade theatre.. when we arrived at the bottom level, i managed to galnce at the digi-clock at there and it was 3:59:11pm.. i was totally in a rush and became totally flustered as i only had about...41sec to reach the theatre.. as everyone knows, if you are late for ANYTHING in esplanade, you have to wait outside the area until the song/segment is over, so as not to disturb the viewers as well as the actors on stage.. i was practically running up the escalator.. lolz.. luckily, the usherers were quite jing3 zhang1 also, and quickly rushed us in.. and when we sat down, the lights just started to darken.. i was like *phew* "luckily we made it".. the show was really nice and it was the total epitome of a murder/comedy musical.. it wasnt anything i expected.. really... i really enjoyed it, bcos my last musical was 'mamma mia' in july, so i was really looking forward to the musical.. during the musical, i just realised that i really idolise musical stars the most because they are able to sing so perfectly (because they are singing live) and they always manage to sing so vibrantly and expressive, and not all alot of singers can do that, esp pop singers.. and they can act as well sing and they're voices are just....so loud and impressive.. i wish i had vocal cords like that.. :p well, more abt the musical.. the musical is about this girl who just arrived from england to find her biological parents who left her on the steps of raffles hotel in 1917.. and she finds her supposed family in a pernakan hosuehold.. however, in the matter of 2 days, she finds that her supposed grandfather was killed and then the murder part of the musical develops.. along the way, you find out things that slowly link the story and the murder together.. the jokes that was amde are absolutely hilarious and spiced with a local twist of singaporean and peranakan culture.. and there really is a twist in the end.. something that you would least expect.. the songs are also ver funny.. overall, the musical was not something i expected but i enjoyed it tremendously.. :p the characters were extremely varied like the snooby matriach to the ditzy daughter of Baba Lim.. of course i will not spill the whole storyline of the musical and the ending for you.. if you really want to know, you will have to watch it urself.. :p its really very fun and lets you experience a temp change in scenery outside reality outside the doors of the esplanade.. i give it 4.5/5 for its plot, humour and singing.. a definite must-watch.. (the theatre was fully-packed even though i watched a afternoon matinee) bytheway.. Billy Gilman rawks.. :p |
date: Wednesday, November 23, 2005 Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head Raindrops keep fallin' on my head And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed Nothin' seems to fit Those raindrops are fallin' on my head, they keep fallin' So I just did me some talkin' to the sun And I said I didn't like the way he got things done Sleepin' on the job Those raindrops are fallin' on my head, they keep fallin' But there's one thing I know The blues they send to meet me won't defeat me It won't be long till happiness steps up to greet me Raindrops keep fallin' on my head But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red Cryin's not for me' Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin' Because I'm free Nothin's worryin' me [trumpet] It won't be long till happiness steps up to greet me Raindrops keep fallin' on my head But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red Cryin's not for me' Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin' Because I'm free Nothin's worryin' me |
